Week 5, Essential Peripherals, Building a PC, Windows under the hood
In week 5, the learning was about
computer peripherals, how to build a computer, and more about Windows operating
system through chapters 10 to 12. It discussed the system’s common ports, (serial
ports, USB, firewire ports), peripherals (keyboard, pointing device, biometric
device, smart card readers, barcode scanners, touch screens, KVM switches, game
controllers, and joysticks, digitizers, and multimedia devices), storage
devices (flash memory, and optical devices), it's functions, issues, and
troubleshooting. In addition, the learning was building a computer, different
installation methods, step-by-step Windows installation, its common issues, and
troubleshooting. The last chapter was about the Windows registry, boot process,
and task manager. This week's learning was informative and I enjoyed it.
