     In week four the learning was about computer motherboards, power supply, storage devices technology, and implementation of data storage through chapters 6 to 9. Chapter 6 was about the motherboard, which is an important part of the computer, and it includes components such as PCI slots, CPU sockets, RAM, front panel connections, southbridge, northbridge, different power connectors, BIO, and CMOS battery. There are different motherboard form factors, ATX, Micro ATX, ITX, and Mini ITX. It also explained expansion cards, their installation, and driver installation.      Chapter 7 was about power supplies, it is standalone machines within the computer that gives power to the system. Powersupply contains different power connectors such as motherboard power sockets, Molex connectors, Mini connectors, SATA power connectors, and Molex splitters. This week I learned CPUs, RAM, and Firmware through chapters 3 to 5. It was an interesting lesson about the CPU and its core components, speed, functions, and features. The processor is the most important part of the computer, it works as a brain. The 4 th chapter explained RAM, different types, features, and functions. The 5 th chapter was about Bios and its functions, ROM, and CMOS. It helped me to understand more about computers and their components. The first video explains how to select a computer with high performance which is cost-effective.  The second video clearly explained different processors . The weekly discusses RAM manufacturers and compares their products with performance ratings.

  In week 2 the learning was about the introduction of computers, computing processes, components of the computer, and functions of hardware and software. Charles Babbage the father of the computer opened a new door to the world by inventing computers. It played an enormous role in society, in many fields such as communication, science, and medicine. Today, people cannot imagine life with computers as they play a significant role in the day to day activities. This week the lessons gave an overview of computing software such as windows, macOS, and Linux and their functions. The introduction of graphical elements into windows made significant changes to computers. The chapter explained the features of various user interfaces such as Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1, Windows 10, macOS, and Linux. In addition, the video explained motherboards and their components.

     Hello everyone, my name is Shibu Joseph and presently I am pursuing my bachelor's degree in Information Technology and like to work in the same field. This is my first time writing a blog and I think it will provide more experience.      I completed my Integrated Diploma in Computer Hardware and Networking in 2006 and worked as an IT Supporter in Qatar, and that was an interesting job. When I troubleshoot or fix the systems that gave me more confidence and experience. Technology has advanced over time and professionals need to update their knowledge according to the organizational needs and expectations, which motivated me to restart my education.
